Patients who do multiple daily injections have traditionally had to keep track of their own data manually. Now, Bluetooth technology has been combined with an insulin pen to create the InPen which can calculate insulin doses and keep track of injection data.
When used, information is transmitted from the reusable smart pen to the InPen app. The app keeps tabs on how many units you received at your last injection, when you took them, and other helpful information.
InPen can also deliver 0.5 to 30 units of insulin, dialed in half-unit increments. If you dialed too many units, it allows you to correct it and not waste insulin. It’s compatible with Humalog and Novolog insulin cartridges and single-use detachable and disposable needles (not included). The InPen lasts for one year with no recharging needed and it comes in various colors.
